I had a mindset early into my career that a career should be rewarding - it can feel messy but enlightening - I should learn from others but equally pay it forward in teaching and leading others - there is no shame in getting enjoyment in a career while tackling other personal areas of life, like being a mother … a wife … a maniacal learner … a friend … a sideline supporter … a champion for equality … an advocate to offer joy to people you sit alongside to forge common success.
Every hurdle, bump, scratch, and full on face-plant has taught me something that I could build upon. Every achievement, recognition, and promotion has gifted pride with equal measure of being stretched. Yet, amidst it all, the most profound satisfaction lies in witnessing the ascent of those who have collaborated with me—both alongside and under my guidance.
This mindset and belief that everyone deserves a rewarding career is my credo.
